Padres Tag Phillies with 5-2 Loss
|
The San Diego Padres defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-2, in National League action at Citizens Bank Park. San Diego pitcher Matt Wheeler had a standout performance. The Padres, now 27-5, have stormed out of the gates.
San Diego relied on the bat of Aaron LeBlanc to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Padres ahead, 4-2. For the game, LeBlanc had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," LeBlanc said.
