Kasahara Leads Cubs to 16-6 Win Over Reds
No one was more impactful than Yasuhide Kasahara in the 16-6 Chicago win over Cincinnati. Kasahara, who finished 4th in the NL in wins above replacement with 7.1 last year, went 4-4 with 3 doubles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Randy Budgell got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Brock Lewis recorded the save, his 1st.

Chicago relied on the hitting of Terry Tuckfard to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cubs on top, 5-0. For the game, Tuckfard had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We maximized our offense today," said Chicago skipper Mergatroid Skittle. "That makes everyone's life easier."

Chicago now sits in third place in the National League Central Division at 16-18.
