Phillies Top Orioles, 6-0, Behind Woods Jr.
|
Philadelphia Phillies starter James Woods Jr. was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Baltimore Orioles, 6-0. With the win, Philadelphia goes to 17-19, while the Orioles fall to 19-15.
Woods Jr., who dominated for Philadelphia, earned the victory to move to 3-3. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 6. Baltimore batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Philadelphia manager Paul Husch.
