Roux gets 5 RBI, Leads Cardinals to Win
|
A good performance from second baseman Antoine Roux helped the St. Louis Cardinals defeat the Minnesota Twins, 8-4. Roux went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Cardinals. The winner was Nate Crow, who threw 102 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. The win has St. Louis at 14-22.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Roux, who is on pace for 113 RBI this season, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Cardinals into the lead, 7-3.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Roux. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
