The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Miami Marlins, 5-4. Starting pitcher Unkei Wakamatsu played a key role in the triumph. Wakamatsu, the winner, moves to 6-1. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 5 walks. Miami's current losing streak has reached 5 games.

Efrain Vargas had a big 2-run home run for the Cubs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Oscar Banda and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cubs ahead, 3-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Vargas. "And not try to do too much."
