|
New York right fielder Sean Cook had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-6, to Atlanta at Citi Field. Cook went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 4. Matt Sigurdson got the win, improving to 3-5. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 11 and walking 2. The triumph puts Atlanta at 20-19 for the season.
Adriaan Pieters, the 30-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Pieters contributed a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put Atlanta up, 7-3.
