Falcon Goes Distance in 9-1 Win
|
Toronto picked up a win at Rogers Centre, bumping off the Houston Astros, 9-1. Pitcher Javy Falcon was a major reason the Blue Jays emerged victorious. Houston now has a 8-game losing streak.
Falcon, who leaned on his fastball, allowed 1 run on just 3 hits over 9 innings for the Blue Jays. For the most part, Houston hitters were simply overmatched.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Dave DaSilva, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
