Minnesota and Chicago got after it at Wrigley Field.
The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Wrigley Field, taking down the Chicago Cubs, 6-2. Starting pitcher Gerbrand van de Bilt was a big reason why. With this game in the books, Minnesota is 19-27, Chicago 24-23.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Mike Quackenbush to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I got in a good groove," said van de Bilt. "I was getting some swings and misses."
