Juarez Slugs Expos to 6-3 Win
|
The 6-3 Montreal win over California was due largely to Robby Juarez. The Expos shortstop was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Montreal reliever Jeff Urry picked up the win, raising his record to 4-3. Harambe Vick was tagged with the loss. Joel Montenegro locked down his 10th save.
Juarez had a timely hit for Montreal in the top of the ninth. With California trailing 3-1, he turned a 0-2 changeup into a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Montreal.
Juarez called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
The win elevated the Expos to 29-20.
