Adrian Hamilton never let Cleveland get something going. The Detroit left-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Tigers to a 2-1 win. After today's action, Detroit sits at 23-25, while Cleveland falls to 21-30.
Had Ryan Neal not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Neal hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Tigers.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Hamilton told the Detroit Gazette.
