Nationals Upend Marlins, 5-3
|
The Washington Nationals picked up a win at Marlins Park, knocking off the Miami Marlins, 5-3. Starting pitcher Tim Wybenga was a big reason why. Wybenga picked up the win for Washington, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Jakub Kvacek locked down his 12th save.
C.J. Beavers, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Beavers contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Washington up, 1-0.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Wybenga.
The win makes Washington 21-30.
