Dominant Performance by Jones in Atlanta Win
|
In a tight game between the Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals, pitcher Casey Jones was terrific on the mound. The Atlanta right-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Victor Munoz closed the game out for Atlanta, earning his 11th save. The Braves raised their record to 25-27.
Jones, a native of New York, was dealing all game. He kept St. Louis hitters off-balance, while giving the Braves 8 quality innings. Jones threw 101 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.
"Casey just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Atlanta manager Andres Wray II.
