Skidding Phillies Lose 8th Straight
|
Philadelphia got a terrific game from third baseman Josh Hensley. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Washington, 4-3. Hensley went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. Jakub Kvacek converted his 13th save in 14 tries. The losses continue to mount for Philadelphia, which has now dropped 8 in a row.
Luis Ramos, the slick-fielding center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramos contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Washington up, 4-3.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Philadelphia skipper Paul Husch.
