The Bluefield Blue Jays defeated the Detroit (APP) Tigers, 9-1, in American League action at Bowen Field, with Bluefield pitcher David Silva named player of the game. The winning continues for Bluefield, with the latest making it 19 straight.

Jose Amparan had a big hit for Bluefield in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Bluefield leading 2-0, Amparan hit a bases-clearing triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Blue Jays up, 5-0.

"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Amparan.
