Hit Parade: Diebel Pops 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Los Angeles (NYP)'s 20-12 victory over the Idaho Falls Chukars, right fielder Jamie Diebel told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the New York-Penn League-level is really something special."

The 23-year-old player earned his accolades today at Melaleuca Field with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Chukars.

"His swing is getting there," said Angels skipper Yerinson Tatis, who spoke glowingly of Diebel after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jamie did that to perfection today."

Jamie Diebel singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

In 27 games this year Diebel has posted a .275 average and put up these numbers: 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
