The first-place Cincinnati Reds took on the Miami Marlins in front of a spirited crowd.

Chris Grunwald was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Miami Marlins. The first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Cincinnati Reds. Timmy John Aaron-Lee Frank Silveira was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.

The Reds got a big at-bat from designated hitter Antonio Figueroa. For the game, Figueroa went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 2-1 lead.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Reds manager Jimmy Silveira II, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."

The victory gives Cincinnati a record of 36-25.
