Mariners Lose to Angels, 4-1
|
The California Angels picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, taking down the Seattle Mariners, 4-1. Starting pitcher Josh Hoeye was a big reason why. Hoeye picked up the win for California, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-5. The victory puts California at 24-41.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the sixth. But Josh Hoeye made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Seattle trailing 3-1, Hoeye threw a fastball to Jose Vasquez and Vasquez hit into a double play.
