Samano Torches Cyclones for 5 Hits
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Daniel Samano today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at MCU Park and paced the Dodgers to a 26-0 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Los Angeles (NYP) catcher told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Daniel Samano walked in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

So far in 2046 Samano is batting .323 with 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 64 hits in 198 at-bats and a .400 OBP.
