Royals Prevail, 3-2, Over Milwaukee
|
The Kansas City Royals topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-2, in American League action at Kauffman Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kansas City pitcher Chris Irvin. Joe Noonan earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Asa Hahn notched his 10th save in 10 chances.
Gil Switzer hit a solo home run off Travis Southern in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Royals ahead, 3-2. In addition to the homer, Switzer had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
Irvin said his team "played with determination."
The 'W' lifts Kansas City's record to 29-39.
