Everything was working for Omar Guardado today at MCU Park. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The fastball was working.

In an unforgettable performance, the 28-year-old Guardado fanned 18 Cyclones and sparked the Cincinnati (NYP) Reds to a 24-0 victory over Brooklyn. He left Cyclones hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.

"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Cincinnati (NYP) manager Chad Duesler. "His location and command were really something."

In addition to collecting 18 strikeouts over 8.1 innings, Guardado allowed 1 hit and 1 walk in a superlative outing.

"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Guardado said with a smile.

This year Guardado has compiled a 11-7 record with a 4.18 ERA.
