Mariners Drop Astros, 5-1
|
Bobby Larson was a major contributor to the 5-1 Seattle win over Houston. The Mariners designated hitter was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win elevated the Mariners to 36-32.
The Mariners got an important contribution from third baseman Jimmy Hammertime, who in the top of the third knocked a first pitch knuckle curve into left for a 2-run double. It was his 25th double of the season and put the Mariners ahead, 3-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Larson, "and today was a good one for us."
