Trapp Torches Cyclones for 5 Hits
|
Jeff Trapp was at the head of a Tri-City hit parade today at MCU Park. The center fielder went to the plate 7 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Dust Devils to a 26-0 victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Trapp told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Cyclones skipper Tyler Lyons said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Jeff Trapp walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
For the year Trapp has hit at a .302 clip with 20 RBIs, 3 home runs and 22 runs scored.
