Hits Blitz for Brewers Maul
|
Milwaukee (NYP) Brewers second baseman Chris Maul hit for the cycle today, but his club still went home with their heads hung low.
The Brewers were upended 7-6 by the Tri-City Dust Devils, despite the big 4-for-5 day from Maul
"It was a good game for me," Maul said later. "I wish it could have been a good game for all of us."
The Brewers second baseman sparked the offense with a truly special performance, hitting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to add his name to the record books. Maul also finished with 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.
Chris Maul doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kenny Morman in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
In the current season, Maul has put up a .367 batting average with 102 hits, 7 home runs, 54 runs batted in and scored 64 runs.
