Nationals Lose to Expos, 5-3
|
Expos center fielder Austin Ohmer put his stamp on his team's 5-3 win over the Washington Nationals. Ohmer hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Montreal in the contest. Link Zeller earned the win for Montreal. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 12. With the win, he raised his record to 5-6. Joel Montenegro was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 12 save opportunities.
In the first inning, Ohmer had a 2-run home run for Montreal. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Expos on top, 4-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Montreal manager Robb Dixon.
With the win, Montreal pushed its record to 38-29.
