Amparan Helps Blue Jays Run Win Streak to 24
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Jose Amparan, the Bluefield Blue Jays defeated the Cleveland (APP) Indians, 11-2. Amparan went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Blue Jays. Robert Cucci picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 13-0. Sergio Samano was tagged with the loss. The Indians, at 57-83, have lost 11 in a row.
Amparan put Bluefield up, 5-2, when he hit a grand slam home run off Ignatius Steinberg in the bottom of the sixth. His 11th home run of the season helped the Blue Jays capture the win.
"We're developing a swagger," said Amparan.
