San Francisco Wins, Dooms goes 3-for-4
|
In the 10-8 San Francisco win over California, the impact of Bill Dooms was substantial. Dooms was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6. Tyler Stancil, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Andrew Kindig was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 20 save opportunities.
Dooms had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 changeup from George Rosario, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Giants a 10-8 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Dooms.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Dooms said.
San Francisco raised its record to 42-25 with the win.
