Astros Squelch Rays Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Astros had to overcome a good performance from Princeton pitcher Mark Woodcock to claim a 5-0 win at Pioneer Park. Woodcock went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was Greeneville reliever Zach Hayes, now 6-1. The loser was Doug Peternek. Greeneville, at 67-72, sits in third place in the American League West.
Barry Brents did his part for the Astros, producing a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the second inning. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Greeneville manager Justin Seager.
