						The Oakland (APP) Athletics stopped the Pulaski Yankees, 10-3, at Juan Marichal Complex. The Athletics got a big game from Koson Hirai, who went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chris Spice, the winner, improved to 25-3. He held the Yankees to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Max Lara got the save, his 5th in 8 chances.
  Hirai came through for Oakland (APP) with a 2-run  single in the bottom of the third. He hit a first pitch fastball to right field, staking his team to a 3-1 lead.
  "We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hirai.
  Oakland (APP) leads the American League West by 31 games.
