The Chicago Cubs downed the Cincinnati Reds, 8-7, at Great American Ball Park. The Cubs were led by Seung-ho Zhang. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever Brock Lewis picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Matt Flink absorbed the loss. The win gives Chicago a season record of 36-33.

Chicago used a timely hit from Josh Kalman to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We'll hit the hot tub tonight in good spirits tonight," said Kalman.
