Giants Win at Chicago, 8-0
|
San Francisco got a strong outing from Keith Kidd as the Giants defeated the Chicago Cubs, 8-0, at Wrigley Field. Kidd got the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. Kidd allowed no runs. With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 44-27.
It could have been a different outcome for San Francisco, had it not been for Carey Horncole, the 23-year old shortstop . Horncole contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Giants manager Jobo Foster. "We came out swinging the bats."
