Hit Parade: Loveless Pops 5 Hits
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Herbert Loveless of the Johnson City Cardinals.

The Johnson City catcher gave it his all and dominated Grand Junction Rockies pitching today at Suplizio Field, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Rockies going home the winner, 23-21.

"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Loveless said later. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."

Herbert Loveless doubled in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Josh Blaschke in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Zi-cheng Zhou in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Bobby Servin in the 8th and tripled in the 9th.

This season Loveless has hit at a .295 clip and produced 36 RBI, 15 home runs and 32 runs.
