White Sox Down Twins, 8-6
|
No one was more impactful than Dieter Knoops in the 8-6 Chicago win over Minnesota. Knoops, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in stolen bases with 18, went 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chicago pitcher Josh Vaca got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Luis Guerrero got the loss. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 47-27.
Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Chris Cooper to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the White Sox on top, 7-6. For the game, Cooper had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Cooper said.
