Late Rally by Tigers Seals 6th Straight Win
|
The Detroit Tigers took Toronto pitcher Stacy Hootentootin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Comerica Park. The final score had Detroit getting past the Blue Jays, 3-1. Hootentootin went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 8. Stacey Kerssies picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Hoof Harted was tagged with the loss. With the win, Detroit raised its record to 36-35.
Detroit took a 2-1 lead on Brady Jeleniewski's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Jeleniewski hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Toronto pitcher Hoof Harted visibly frustrated.
"I like to lead by example," said Jeleniewski. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
