The Detroit Tigers got a good effort from starter Ryan Sobocinski in defeating the Toronto Blue Jays at Comerica Park. The final score was 2-1. The winner was Joe Bradford in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Hoof Harted took the loss. Bobby Jones converted his 16th save in 16 tries.
Detroit took a 2-1 lead on Dave Reynolds's 12th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Toronto pitcher Hoof Harted in the bottom of the eighth.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Reynolds.
The win puts Detroit at 37-36 this season.
