Colorado and Pittsburgh got after it at PNC Park.

Despite a great performance by Pittsburgh center fielder Marvin McAleer, the Colorado Rockies defeated the Pirates by the score of 9-5 at PNC Park. McAleer was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times. The winning pitcher was Cooper Bate. He's now 1-3. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits for the Rockies.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Sterling Acosta? The Colorado second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Rockies on top, 2-0. For the game, Acosta had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I know we have our doubters," said Pittsburgh manager Kevin Giles. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
