Cardinals Bridle Reds, 3-2
|
Busch Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.
In a low-scoring clash between St. Louis and Cincinnati, pitcher Nate Crow was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Danny Romero was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 22 save opportunities.
St. Louis took a 3-0 lead on Tom Butterbaugh's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Cincinnati pitcher Justin Ambrose in the bottom of the eighth.
After the game, St. Louis manager Jeff Jones Jr. applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Reds have now dropped 10 straight.
