4-1 Loss Extends Houston Losing Streak
|
The Chicago White Sox beat the Houston Astros, 4-1, at U.S. Cellular Field. Starting pitcher Xenophon Valvis was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Valvis went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 12-1. Rhett Beers notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
The White Sox picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
Valvis attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 50-28.
