New York Takes Wildcard Series in Deciding Game
With a narrow 2-1 series win, the New York Yankees have eliminated the Texas Rangers and are Wildcard Series winners.

"We tried not to look ahead to the Division Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said center fielder Evan Torraville, who was named series MVP.

New York won the final game by a score of 7-3, wrapping it up at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Torraville's big series saw him hit .364 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The New York Yankees will play against the Chicago White Sox in the next round. Chicago had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
