Wildcard Series Game 1 Victory for Quirk and Arizona
The Arizona Diamondbacks powered past the visiting San Francisco Giants, 6-2, in the opener of the Wildcard Series at Chase Field today. Arizona starting pitcher Murphy Quirk threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Diamondbacks now lead the series 1-0.

The Diamondbacks benefited from an error in the bottom of the second inning. Arizona was trailing 1-0 when Andy Swaim hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Arizona in front, 2-1.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Swaim. "But it's all business when we're on the field."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Chase Field in Phoenix.
