San Diego Takes Division Series in Deciding Game
The fans in San Diego are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in San Francisco.

The San Diego Padres finished off the San Francisco Giants 8-7 in the deciding game of the Division Series played at Petco Park.

They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the League Championship Series.

For his standout play, San Diego third baseman Dietmar Warmisch was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.

He batted .435, drove in 5 runs and scored 3 to lead his club to victory.

"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Warmisch and that doomed us," said Giants manager Jobo Foster. "Hats off to San Diego, though. That was a great series."

The San Diego Padres will play against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the next round. Pittsburgh won their series against the Atlanta Braves 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
