Black Bears on to Divisional Championship
|
Fans of the Cincinnati (NYP) Reds groaned when Jose Almonte stepped up to the plate in the Round 1.
And for good reason too, as the West Virginia Black Bears player was instrumental in guiding his team to a 4-1 series win over the Reds.
The series was clinched tonight at Baseball City Complex, with West Virginia coming out on top 2-1 in the deciding game.
Almonte's strong series included a .421 batting average, with a .476 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 0 runs.
The Divisional Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
