Ham Blasts Pirates, Expos Take Game 2, 6-4
|
Montreal left fielder John Ham was the difference-maker for the Expos in what turned into a shootout with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ham earned accolades after going 4-for-4 in the 6-4 Expos win. With the victory, the Expos moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Danny Diaz, the 28-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Diaz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Montreal up, 3-1.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Ham, "and go after the next one."
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Quebecor Stadium in Montreal.
