Orioles Prevail, 5-3, Over Seattle
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 5-3. Starting pitcher Randy Johnson Jr. was a big reason why. In 7 innings, Johnson Jr. surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Riso Profanter converted his 15th save in 19 tries.
Gabe Pace drove in one run for Baltimore. The 25-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off William de Jesus. It was his 39th RBI of the season.
Pace attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Baltimore goes to 37-46, Seattle to 46-40.
