Marlins Come Up Short at Washington, 3-2
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Washington Nationals and the Miami Marlins, Danny Diaz was the difference-maker. The Washington right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Washington has now won 3 in a row.
Adam Burke dealt the Marlins a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Washington leading 2-1, Burke, who finished 3rd in the NL in home runs with 46 in 2038, hit a 0-2 changeup for a run-scoring single.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Diaz told a Washington Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
