Athletics Hang 5-2 Loss on Rangers
The 5-2 Oakland win over Texas was due largely to Sébastien Piat. The Athletics third baseman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Oakland reliever David Noffsinger picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Pimbly Nimblebottom was saddled with the loss. Kyle Ehret got the save, his 18th in 23 chances.

Shigem Kubo helped out the Oakland cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4.

"No time for posing," said Kubo. "The next game will be here before you know it."

The Athletics saw their record improve to 41-51.
