Yankees Deal Blue Jays 6-3 Loss
|
New York and Toronto duked it out and the Yankees came out victorious.
Toronto right fielder Jon Schick was sensational. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. New York beat the Blue Jays, 6-3. Joel Pacheco converted his 25th save in 26 tries.
New York used a well-timed hit by Bartholomeu Chambino to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Chambino crowed after the game.
New York now has a record of 53-39 with the win.
