Brewers Fall Short, 3-2, at Cincinnati
|
Cincinnati Reds starter Bryce Schimmoeller was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Schimmoeller, now 11-4. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The win puts Cincinnati at 47-46 this season.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when first baseman Chris Grunwald, who is tied for 8th in the NL in triples with 6, hit a triple. The Reds went on to win.
"Bryce is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Cincinnati manager Jimmy Silveira II.
