Braves Edge Past Nationals, 6-5
|
Washington catcher Kanehisa Kubo had a good game, even if his team did not. The Nationals dropped a 6-5 decision to Atlanta at Turner Field. Kubo went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The victory gives the Braves a record of 49-45.
Had Luis Torres not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Torres hit a 2-run double. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Braves.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Torres said.
