Athletics Deal Giants 6-3 Defeat
|
Oakland picked up a win at AT&T Park, bumping off the San Francisco Giants, 6-3. Pitcher Hunter Vanderhyden was a major reason the Athletics emerged victorious. Kyle Ehret, credited with the save, is now 20 for 25 in save opportunities. Oakland, at 43-54, holds down third place in the American League West Division.
Oakland used the clutch hitting of Sakae Kasahara to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Athletics ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Kasahara.
