Juan Gallegos exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Joplin Baseball Complex.

The Tijuana right fielder had a field day in the 21-2 triumph over the Joplin Blasters, finishing 5-for-7.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Gallegos must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Juan Gallegos hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Victor Maravilla in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Itsuki Eguchi in the 9th.

Thus far this year Gallegos is batting .333 with 16 home runs, 57 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
